Tupac Shakur

An American rap artist.

Born in East Harlem, New York City.

He is recognized in the Guinness Book of Records as the best selling Hip Hop Artist selling over 75 million albums world wide.Documented 2005.

Shakur was initially a roadie and backup dancer for the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground.

Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up amid violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, problems in society and conflicts with other rappers.

Shakur's work is known for advocating political, economic, social and racial equality, as well as his raw descriptions of violence, drug and alcohol abuse and conflicts with the law.

Known as 2pac or Pac, he has appeared in films, written poetry etc.

His debut album "2Pacalypse Now" in 1990.

He became the target for many lawsuits and legal problems and also was convicted of assaulting a women in 1993 which he denied.

He surved 11 months in prison for the crime he was released on an appeal.

The release of the double album "All Eyez On Me" being his fifth album release in 1996.

The same year Shakur was shot in a drive by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The official cause of death was respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest in connection with multiple gunshot wounds.

Shakur died in 1996 aged 25.
