An English singer, songwriter.
One of Englands most prolific song writers.
Mainly known for writing many hit's for Petula Clark in the sixties and seventies.
He was writing songs and making a name for himself within the recording industry, joining The Rank Organisation's new diskery, Top Rank Records; there he worked for the once and future Decca Records A&R man Dick Rowe.
Hatch began his own recording career with a cover version of Russ Conway's piano instrumental "Side Saddle", 1960.
In 1964, Hatch made his first trip to New York City in search of new material for Clark. The visit inspired him to write "Downtown", originally with The Drifters in mind.
Hatch wrote with now ex wife Jackie Trent and charted themselves with the self penned hit "The Two Of Us" which topped the charts in Australia.
He and Jackie moved to Australia in 1982 where they wrote "The Two Of Us" and many other songs and projets headed their way such as the Them from the TV series "Neighbours".
They separated in 1995 and divorced in 2002.
He now lives in Menorca, Spain with his third wife, Maggie.
