Memorial: He was buried two days later in Brookwood cemetery, Surrey. Owing to changes at Brookwood his mortal remains were exhumed in 1991 and reburied in St Peter's churchyard at Limpsfield, Surrey. His grave is situated approximately 10 metres from that of the composer Frederick Delius.
