A German born singer.

Raised in South Hampton he joined "The Tornados" who charted with the Joe Meek produced hit "Telstar". He played bass.

Classed as a one hit wonder Heinz charted in the early sixties with "Just Like Eddy". A tribute song of kinds to the late Eddy Cochran.

All of his songs were produced by the late Joe Meek.

He was initially backed by The Saints.

His later backing group named "The Wild Ones" and "The Wild Boys" once featured a young Ritchie Blackmore and Mick Underwood among others.

Blackmore actually performed on the aforementioned hit "Just Like Eddie".

Crippled by the effects of motor neurone disease, Heinz died in 2000, at the age of 57.
