Joseph McCarthy

An American lyricist whose most famous songs include You Made Me Love You, and I'm Always Chasing Rainbows, based upon the haunting melody from the middle section of Chopin's "Fantasie Impromptu".

He was a frequent collaborator of composers Harry Tierney (1890–1965) and Fred Fisher (1875–1942). He was the director of ASCAP from 1921 to 1929, and is not to be confused with U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy (1908–57).
